After the success of launching the global, live broadcast of the MTV Video Music Awards, MTV called Street Artisans again to take over an art gallery in trendy SoHo. MTV wanted to create additional hype for the music performances that would take place during the show. Each VMA show performer was given a specific color theme and then matched with 1 of 8 of NYC street artists. Over 900 sq. feet of wall space was covered in wheat paste and spray paint. The gallery was open for a week and utilized for daily MTV events and ticket giveaways.
